Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2023

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, while addressing a public meeting at Malakheda in Alwar on Monday, said that from April 1, citizens covered under BPL and Ujjwala scheme in the state will get LPG cylinder for Rs.500 by the government. Ashok Gehlot's government has given a big relief to the poor before presenting the budget like this. He also said that the common man in the country is suffering due to inflation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi did a drama with the citizens in the name of Ujjwala Yojana. Today the LPG cylinder is available for Rs 1036. And said that I do not want to announce much. I will present the budget next month and we are getting the study done of the people who come under this purview. Chief Minister Gehlot said that cylinders will be given to families coming under BPL and Ujjwala schemes at the rate of Rs 500 from April 1. While at present the cost of the cylinder is around Rs.1040.

Under the Ujjwala scheme, the Gujarat government will give two free cylinders to 38 lakh beneficiaries every year.

The Gujarat government has given a gift before Diwali to the beneficiaries covered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana of their state. The government has announced to give 2 cylinders absolutely free of cost every year to 38 lakh beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. Along with this, the Gujarat government has also reduced the VAT on CNG and PNG by 10%. Reduction on CNG/PNG and giving 2 free Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders per year to 38 lakh beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will cost the state government Rs 1650 crore.

Auspicious start of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 has been launched by the Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi on 10 August 2021 through video conferencing. Under which the beneficiaries will be provided free of cost with refill and hot plate, LPG gas connection. Interest-free loans will also be provided to the beneficiaries to buy gas stoves. This scheme was launched by the Prime Minister from Mahoba district. In which 10 women beneficiaries were given LPG connections through virtual medium. The papers of LPG connection were provided to the beneficiaries by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Paperwork has been simplified under this scheme. Now the beneficiaries will not need to submit their ration card and address proof. A self-declaration has to be submitted to provide proof of your address. Apart from this, information was also provided on this occasion that during the Karona call, cylinders were provided free of cost to the beneficiaries for 6 months by PM Modi.

1 crore new beneficiaries will be added to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

In the first phase of Ujjwala Yojana, 14743862 beneficiaries were provided gas connections in Uttar Pradesh. All those citizens who could not take advantage of this scheme in the first phase will be given benefits in the second phase of this scheme. Migrant workers can get the benefit of this scheme only by submitting their self attested declaration form. Which will be submitted as proof of their residence. In the first phase of this scheme, a target was set to provide gas connections to about 5 crore families in the year 2016. In April 2018, the scope of this scheme was increased. In which 7 more categories were increased.

Apart from this, the target under this scheme was increased from 5 crore to 8 crore. Till August 2019, around 8 crore women have been provided LPG connections through this scheme. Till 30 July 2021, 79995022 beneficiaries have been benefited through this scheme. About one crore beneficiaries will be benefited through Ujjwala Yojana 2.0. This was announced while announcing the budget for the year 2021-22.

Extension of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana through the budget of 2021-22
